What's For Dinner? The most dreaded question asked around here!

Canning-Sweet and Sour Sauce

Ingredients:

8 Cups Tomatoes blanched and sliced
4 Cups Onions, diced
4 Cups Green bell peppers, diced
1 large can pineapple tidbits, drained.  Save juice
1 large can crushed pineapple, don't drain
5 Cups sugar
3 Cups vinegar (white or cider)
8 Tablespoons soy sauce

Bring all above ingredients to a boil for 1-2 minutes.

Mix:
1 1/2 Cups sugar
1 Cup corn starch
1 Cup saved pineapple juice

Add to previous boiling mixture and boil for 1-2 minutes more.
Pour into jars.  Process steam or water bath pints 35 minutes/quarts 40 minutes.

Makes 6 Quarts.  This sauce is great served over chicken and rice.
